First European Land Stewardship Congress: a complete success!

From 5th to 8th November more than 250 people attended the 1st European Land Stewardship Congress in CosmoCaixa, Barcelona.
Speakers from around the world presented their experiences in the technical workshops and explained how land stewardship can be used as a tool for nature conservation and biodiversity and its contribution to the implementation of regional and European policies. The results of the workshops were presented during the closing session on 7th November, and will be available on the website soon.
A total of 26 short communications were presented in different sessions, and 23 posters about specific land stewardship initiatives were displayed in the poster exhibition.
Different networking sessions were planned to coincide with the coffee breaks at the Stoa space, where participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and make new contacts.
On the 8th November the Congress attendees visited two land stewardship examples in Catalonia, discovering the sustainable land management practices implemented in the areas of l’Alt Empordà and La Selva.
The Congress would not have been possible without the help of the 11 volunteers that worked so hard to make the Congress a complete success!

LandLife project: mission accomplished!

Take a look at the video showing the results of the LandLife Project! During the period September 2011 – December 2014 the five LandLife project partners – Xarxa de Custòdia del Territori, Conservatoire d'espaces naturels du Languedoc-Roussillon, Legambiente Lombardia, Eurosite and Prysma – have promoted land stewardship principles and developed tools to put land stewardship into practice. We will continue to encourage landowners, citizens and others to become (more) involved in nature conservation, so that we can take care of Europe’s natural and cultural treasures together!
