LandLife explained the Catalan experience on marine stewardship in London

LandLife participated in a workshop about marine stewardship organised by the Vectors Project last 05th January in London. It was represented by a delegate from the Marine Stewardship Group of the Land Stewardship Network in Catalonia – xct.

VECTORS aims to improve our understanding of how environmental and manmade factors are impacting marine ecosystems now and how they will do so in the future. The project is addressing invasives, outbreaks and changes in fisheries distribution and productivity - in a sea with changing pressures including marine renewables, climate change, ocean acidification fisheries and shipping.

The Marine Stewardship Group of xct - coordinated by SUBMON a stewardship organisation which provides environmental services related to the conservation, study and awareness of the marine environment - participated in the working sessions, pointing out the experience with the marine stakeholders in Catalonia.

The LandLife was also mentioned in the session and some copies of the European manual on land stewardship were distributed to session participants.
